Bullous keratopathy
Description
Loss of function of the inner-most cells of the cornea (endothelium) leads to loss of the normal clarity due to development of oedema. The cells may be lost due to Fuch’s corneal dystrophy, from other intra-ocular disease or from prior surgery.
Clinical Features
Reduction in vision
Clouding of the cornea
Blistering of the cornea may rupture leading to severe pain, infection or intra-ocular inflammation
